An interesting visit with plenty of monkeys to see during feeing time. The feeding site is very open so you can see the monkeys from a long way away both coming to feed and leaving. This means you can see them in their ‘real’ state rather than just eating food left for them.

What a great little place! We travelled here by private taxi for the afternoon feed, so it was only a small group of people there. Plenty of room to move around and get photos. There was no wait or great crowds for the proboscis monkeys - they came in two big troops- and kept well apart whilst making the most incredible Baa noises like sheep - they waggled their strange noses and fought over bread and vegetables - then left on lass to jump gracefully huge distances throughout the trees. Well worth the trip!

Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary is the only place of its kind in Malaysia. The place has hundreds of Proboscis monkeys, a species that is native to Borneo State only. This sanctuary is a must visit place that can be combined with Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary and Sandakan town.

The monkeys here - both Silverleaf and Proboscis are so close to you, unlike at the Orangutang sanctuary which felt very distant. Should have a visit to this Proboscis, not easy to find at west malaysia. Worth to go..most of us only watch "national discovery". Come and visit to see the real "Probosics"..definate you have a great time with them..

Surely its a money making scheme and there is now a palmtree plantation and no natural forest but I think this arrangement is thousand times better as the situation it could be there. Plantation owner gets money but monkeys get food and they are living there pretty great, they dont have to stand up with hunger and they mateing greatly..... More

Not a sanctuary, money making scheme. Surrounded by palm oil, poor monkeys have no forest, better to see them at a zoo rather than waste your money. Please don't go.
