Historical monuments are the major attractions. Holidaymakers can find many numbers of wonderful forts and spots located in several cities, apart from that the city is also very famed for wildlife tourism. Keoladeo national parks and Ranthambore are the two major wildlife reserve of Rajasthan. Every year thousands of explorers visit. Last year in winter season we had visited Rajasthan,... More

This was my second trip to Bharatpur after a gap of four years & unlike the last time when we barely were able to see any birds this was a season of plentiful, the painted storks the crowning jewel (n absence of Siberian cranes) were present in thousands, also managed to see loads of kingfishers, eagrets, variety of owls, &... Beautiful, calm and relaxing with all kinds of birds and animals. I had a leisurely day on a rental bike and took a lot of pictures. More

Fantastic trip yet again. Birds were numerous, as were nilgai. Do take a boat ride preferably in the morning: we saw a flock of bar-headed geese and other birds (e.g., lapwing, grebe) 4 - 5 feet away! Great photographs. Not to mention 5 pythons of disconcerting sizes! More

I spent 4 days in the park and on the 4th day, I was still counting new species I hadn't seen during my previous visits. The moment I went beyond the main tourist road and traveled along the many smaller trails within the park, I couldn't stop ticking off the species in my guidebook. Pin Tailed Ducks, Purple Herons, Siberian... More

Rickshaw ride takes about 30 minutes each way to lake. Hire guide if interested in identifying birds. There are many. Visit early or late for best viewing. More

Tons of birds, and monkeys, and foxes, and deer of several varieties and lots and lots of birds and acres and acres of peaceful space. That's the good bits. The hassle at the start is, well, to be expected. but annoying. We voted for going by bike without a guide and it was a bit of a battle... Once we... More

We chose to visit on the way from Jaipur to Agra and the company sent an ornithologist to guide us round. A bicycle rickshaw did most of the 'walking' for us. April is quietish as most migratory birds have gone but there are still many different and interesting varieties of birds to see so was well worth it. If you... More
