Narrow tunnels leading to a guha where Sita was hiding. Difficult for senior citizens and disabled. Surrounded by five trees. Adjacent is a place from where Sita was abducted. There is a tree where people tie sacred thread for fulfilment of wishes.

Queues are LONG because visitors have to crawl down to the idols, and crawl back up. Do not send anyone where who is either elderly (post 70s) or 6 ft or more than 100kgs !

You have to go down through a narrow staircase, on all fours to reach the shrine where the Lord Ram, Lakshman and Sita idols are kept. It is believed to be the place where Lord Ram, Sita and Lakshman lived partly during their exile before Sita was abducted by Raavan. Just outside you can see three of the famous five... More

Kalaram temple along with Sita Gumpha is a must visit in Nasik. Apart from the blissful darshan the experience of crawling through an extremely tiny and dark passage lies beyond my words...

This one is an amazing experience from the Epic "Ramayana". This is the place Lord Rama, Goddes Sita and Lakshmana spent most part of their exile. This is Panchvati, if you didn't know. You can see the 5 trees (the Panch (five) Vats. There is a KalaRam temple nearby. Sita Gupha is a cave where you need to enter by... More

A narrow congested staircase that existed from time immemorial leads to a slightly wider space which abodes a Shivalinga said to exist without any change from Ramayan era . Ram ,Laxman and sita idols are also present in another wider space .It is said that Sita was abducted from here by Ravana . The total area is under the shade... More

Took almost 45 mins to take darshan inside the cave. Had a long queue . Crowded & congested place. Entry is very small. Definitely not advisable for elders & those with back problems. One has to literally crawl in some places.

Even the local guide was not sure of the authenticity of the legend that Sita lived here in hiding ...he said even the scientists had not been able to date this cave accurately. It could be 100 or 2000 years old, it is certainly an old cave which has seen millions of visitors ... the rock is a smooth cold... More

Very old and good ,but very tight for weighty people !What I liked is the quick darshan. What is inconvenient is the small entry as the name suggests, Gumpha!
