The Tahrs seems to have disappeared or diminished in size. Probalby they are becoming extinct. Need to go early to get into the Forest Dept Bus. Waiting time is 45min if you go at 8AM, it increases to 3 hours at 11AM. One of the best views of Anaimudi, Rajamala and Tea Plantation.
liked the crowd interest and the arrangement of the bus service from the pick up point. unfortunately after 2 hrs long wait in que for the bus and 30 min ride up the dangerous road trip, did not see any animals because of summer weather.
You need to go to this place quite early if you are going during season time. Otherwise we need to wait in a long queue. Also, more than the Tahr, the view from there is supposed to be nice. But it was fully covered with mist when we went. so we couldn't see anything. Also please be aware that you...

Unfortunately, we can only trek for a kilometer inside the national park from the bus drop point . It would have been great if for an extra cost the park allowed us to hire...

Saw clouds from close sight and mountain view was wonderful. Couldnt see many animals but view of the entire place and valleys was awesome.
The slightly more than a kilometer walk up-the-gradient, otherwise difficult for me, was not felt at all, due to the constant sight of the friendly goats, sometimes almost like shaking hands (legs)! The day was firther characterised by misty, cool weather.
Trip to Munnar was really worth the time spent. Could not have asked for more and the joy on the face of my children has been the most rewarding and worth the visit.
