Could hardly find find birds. Slow Boat Ride (@Rs.900) in Hot & Humid Climate made our experience terrible. He takes you inside the water lanes of the island, where you cannot see anything but crabs. Only thing enjoyable was the ferry to & from the island which carries you along with you car. Also you can find lot to rubbish... More

Took a bus from panjim to ribandar (5 RS/pers) then ferry to chorao island (free for foot passengers). We paid an entry fee, which is mandatory to enter the park, about 20Rs/pers plus 30Rs per camera, i think you can then walk around the park but we chose to hire a guide and canoe. Uday took us to his house... More

The Bird Sanctuary is a really nice place to visit. I went there at about 9am which is a bit late to see the birds. I still saw about 10 different ones. One of the staff members (Chandu) was very helpful. Gave me a set of binoculars, walked with me and pointed out the birds. Between October and January, there... More

Come evening anytime of the year, Bats nesting in the mangroves start pouring out of their sleep to come and feed on the mainland all over on the island in Chorao and Salvador do Mundo, During the onset of winter, we have the Siberian cranes come visit the sanctuary who also come to feed in the mainland whereas they nest... it costs a fortune to get there, they charge you 800 rupees to sit on a board for half an hour and you dont get to see any birds, plus an additional 50 rupees for every camera brought along. there is no sanctuary as such - its a lake and you sit on a boat...THAT IS IS! it was a... More

take the boat which charges you 900 for 12 people entry fees is 50/-. Saw so many varieties of crabs but not many birds...Many mosquitoes if u are going for a 1km walk within the santuary. Its a quiet place with lush green mangroves. Its worth a try as the island looks beautifull via the ferry.

This added another dimension to the history. Excellent guide from our hotel made arrangement for a very early tour- good guide. Perhaps it could have been one hour rather than an hour and half but well worth the early morning rise- and viewing a large crocodile an added bonus

This was a fantastic experience and I would recommend it if you were a birdwatcher. Even if you're not, I would still recommend it as it was such a wonderful experience! Ask a local taxi driver to take you to Chorao Island. He'll drive you to a ferry port (about a ten minute drive from Candolim). He will then come... More
