Much of the glory of the Rennaisance is not found in the large cathedrals, but in quieter and quainter places like St. Lawrence. Set in the main square of Trogir, its art and architecture is both interesting and inviting. Its chapel off the main nave is truly the diadem in this little crown of the city. It is art and... More

We visited in the mid-afternoon, and I think Trogir's tour groups had mainly gone as we had the cathedral to ourselves. We got to climb the bell tower (without anyone else in our way). However, it's scary if you do not like heights, and even if you're a bit wary as the windows are quite large and you can see... More

Go for the bell tower, the typanum, the Renaissance chapel and the treasury. I like medieval churches a lot, but this one far exceeded my expectations. More

I happened to attend the Sunday Mass before catching my flight at the Airport a few kilometres away. A memorable experience indeed though I couldn't understand a word. More

I had read about St. Lawrence Cathedral and Radovan's facade, but I was still awed when I saw it in person. For one thing, not only is Radovan's facade extraordinary - a plethora of figures and allegory and beauty. But also, it is so well preserved! It looks like it could've been carved a generation ago or less, not many... More

This cathedral is set in a lovely square, and the Radovan portal is worth the entry alone. went up the bell tower, I have a little acrophobia and is is a bit hairy but well worth it. They are rennovating the inside at the moment, but still very beautiful. When I bought the Radovan portal book (100HRK), the lovely lady... More

Interesting choir stalls and sculptures in the side chapels. Frequent tour parties so you need to step aside, let them pass then carry on with your own visit More

Trogir cathedral is small but beautiful. The entrance fee was 25kn and allowed entry to the cathedral, treasury, bapistry and bell tower. You can take photos inside except in the treasury. The carved doorway, side chapel and the choir stalls were particularly impressive but the highlight was the view over the town and the sea from the bell tower. The... More

The Cathedral of St Lawrence stands in the main square of Trogir and its belfry dominates the town skyline. The atrium shelters the beautiful and magnificent Romanesque door into the cathedral. Two stone lions support Adam and Eve on either side of the doorway. The scenes depicted include the months of the year, images of saints, episodes from the bible... More
