Cres Island is one of those hidden places we visted out of Season and it was great! The island itself is lovely great views and the locals are really freindly! There are some really lovely views to be seen in Cres. We stayed for 5 nights and each night we found a great bar and a great restaurant - just... More

This is a slice of heaven on earth. We have been here twice in the last two years. Peaceful, beautiful on the Adriatic Ocean an that is our idea of paradise. We stay at a cozy hotel with 8 rooms where we have a total apartment for less than $80 a night. Walking distance to wonderful cafes and a large... More

Altogether we made 15 visits to Cres island , in last 7 years twice yearly and now in May 2012. It is the most beautiful island among 1000 jewels of Adriatic sea . We explored all the island and made many hiking expeditions to Sv. Blaž , Lubenice village and two beaches below Lubenice. Beach with Blue cave is magnificent... More

Surely because of the former "Iron Curtain" and then the post Soviet breakup wars, this tucked away corner of the world has escaped the unrelenting push to modernization that has grasped the rest of the world. We stayed three days and 2 nights in the small seaside village of Cres (same name as the island). We were very impressed! The... More

Croatian islands of northern Adriatic are located at the former crossroad or “mare quaternium”- the four seas, referring to four different routes by sea, heading to Rijeka and Senj, Venice-Trieste, Ancona and Zadar, nowadays called in Croatian language Kvarner. This beautiful bay hides tree large islands – Cres, Losinj and Krk, with two more extended further to the south– the... More

We were staying on island Krk and were advised by our friends to visit Cres. Oh, it is such an amazing place! Not so crowded and touristic as Krk, very genuine and green. Cres is connected with Krk by ferry, and it takes approximately 30-40 minutes to get there. We spent the whole day on Cres and visited: 1. City... More

We were recommended this remote seaside village by a local agent in Veli Losinj. Absolutely stunning! We reached it by bus from Mali Losinj over spectacular wild and remote countryside. There is a campsite but we stayed above a local restaurant in a smart modern clean apartment with aircon! (£36 per night) So peaceful - no Brits - very quiet... More

A quick review on Cres. We flew into Rijeka airport (actually on the island of Krk) which is a kind-a cool 70's small airport. There is a cash machine there, a couple of car hire offices, a café and an information desk. We managed to share a taxi with 5 others, 4 heading to Krk town, and 1 (Pete) heading... More
