IT´s an ancient building preserved in a artistic way by the famous architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha (pritzer priced!), so the building itself is one of the works of art! But you can find very good expos inside, always, some of them from abroad. The inner part highlights them - it is very beautiful, can´t loose it!

This place was a college before, and I graduated as architect there. It's an amazing building, and the art inside is stunning. There is a coffee shot/restaurant on the ground floor, in the back with great snacks and beer.

I have never been in the Pinacoteca when the play was average, and also its own material is very incredible. Wonderful place to one who like modern and contemporaneous art.

More and more Brazil is recognizing the ugly dictatorship period of the 20th century. This (beautiful) building used to be the political prison where the activists were "interviewed" and held. Today one can see a good representative exhibition about the building's past and the years of dictatorship in Brazil and it's resistance. Next to this, there are several floors with... More

The Museum is located in the pavement of the former political prison called DOPS and is well managed and very instructive for all those who wants to know waht really went on during the fierce years of the miltary dictatorship in Brazil (1964/1985) . A must !

It is such a symbol of how cool the city is because it is always showing great art and it is not hard to get there at all. Sao Paulo is culture and it is great at it. The building itself is art and at night it is even cooler to visit. Just a couple of hints: it does not... More

This art gallery is built inside a wonderful green area, Parque da Luz,. The building itself qualifies as a sculpture. There are works exhibited inside the galleries as well as in the garden, on trees and on the grass.

A great collection of art from the last 200 years within a great building renovation. Information is available in English. Well worth a visit. Nice cafe with outdoor seating is worth a stop.

Besides the expositions, the building is an artwork itself.
