From the distance and some pictyures you can see it is a very interesting construction, the problem is that there is no bus to get there. You either take a taxi or walk a few miles from the center of the city to reach it. The walk is very nice though.

I liked the way to the Fortress, is very beautiful and pleasant to walk as is very windy. Near to the fortress there are so called natural pools which are occasionally formed by stones and ocean waters, nice for refreshing!

It's a very well preserved fort so you can get a really good idea of what it was like when it was operational. Just nearby is the bridge which is worth checking out as well. It's well worth a visit, especially as it's one of the main attractions in Natal.

The view is amazing, but the place does not offfer options for snacks and good souvenirs. The trip was nice, but I wouldn't come back soon.

This 400-year old fort is great for a 1-2 hour visit. Also, watch for native birds as you walk on the boardwalk through the mangroves on the way to the fort.

If you like history, it is the place to go. The 16th century fortress is relatively well preserved and they have guides (apparently only in Portuguese, unfortunately).

Nice historical spot. Kinda boring for younger kids an toddlers. Long walk from parking spot to the Fort itself.
