Porto Barra is the most happening beach in Salvador in my opinion. It is always busy and fun. Whether is is the guys entertaining by playing the kavaki or the man with the biggest butt you have ever see sambaing in a bikini and being slathered in sun cream by his adoring fans you will definitely have a story to... The best and most charming town beach. In high season unfortunately a bit too crowded, go early in the morning or for the faboulous sunset

PORTO DA BARRA IN SALVADOR, BAHIA, BRAZIL A good beach to go for a dive. Wonderful for watching the sunset. On Friday evenings there is usually a concert there. Free, no taxes. You can also buy excellent hand made tableclothes and bed spread ai Instituto Mauá, in Porto da Barra

Nice local beach, full of locals and tourists, sea is clean and calm for swimming, what is uncommon insuch a big city. Allways take your time to rent a chair andumbrella, first walk arround and find a perfect place and then bargain for price, it can be easily one third of start price. I have been few times there and... More

It is like a olympic swimming pool no waves perfect for bathing. Near the center it has many little hotels around it. At night after 21pm turists should be more cautious.

it´s a beautiful beach, although it´s not "unforgetable". I went there before 8 o´clock, in a cloudy day, so it was clean. But it´s use to be dirty when full.

There is a beautiful sunset here that everyone cheers for - and it's a nice mix of locals and tourists. Try the acaraje sold on the beach.

Brazilians are very pleasant people and the beach just reflects this. People from all ages, sizes (6 pack to family pack) can be seen here. This beach is on the western side so it offers a very nice sunset view. A lot of people throng this place so it can be bit difficult to get a chair. Bahians on the... More

The beach is crowed every weekend. But on the week days this is the place. The water is crystal and hot. There is no waves. It's a great place to dive or swim.
