Some geologists theorize that Corregidor was once part of a huge volcano that erupted on one side and gradually eroded to become partly invisible beneath the sea. It is called "The Rock" because it served as the major bastion of Philippine's Allies during World War II. « less

An aerial view of the island gives you the impression of a tadpole. Such a small island that played an important role in World War II. Around the island there are memorials for American (Pacific War Memorial), Filipinos (Filipino Heroes Memorial) and Japanese (Japanese Garden of Peace) soldiers who served and lost their lives in the island.

I have been twice. If you book directly with Sun Cruises, the price is vastly different. I paid the first year with one company who charged more than Sun Cruises and I spent the night on the island. A film crew on the Island same time and got myself on television. The tour is very well presented. Tour guides do... More

Corregidor is a must-see destination for those interested in military history. For me, I could endure the dilapidated, stuffy, and usually late ferry to visit the island at least once. The tour guide we had seemed to have memorized their script and the lackluster buffet made me wish I had brought my own food. The company that runs the tours... More

This is a fun trip and well worth the time. I would advise to take the boat there with the paid tour. They have a bus/trolley thaty will take you to the various areas around the island.Be prepared to have water with you but there is a lunch included with the paid trip which is nice. the only disadvantage is... My girlfriend is a history graduate student and she loved it. Even though, I'm not a history major I still enjoyed the route we took and i think finding a good tour guide is also a factor. However, one thing you must watch out for is the boat ride going there. It's around an hour and a half long and... More

We booked our tour with a Company called Grayline sightseeing tours in Manila. They charged us a lot more then the tour was worth, as they do not do the tour. They just drive you to the dock and book you into sun tours, but charge almost double the real cost if you go to sun tours. I call it... More
