i think this once lovely place is now degenerating into a pasar malam outlet. of course staff are mostly foreigners and i understand there are no more cultural and local musical performance.

There's not much stuff to choose, and actually a lot of the stuff I can get in Indonesia. I didn't find Malaysian-specific item here.
I been to central market many-many time in my youngest years. It's a place where I would go to buy local arts for souvenir for family and friends. I still enjoy my time whenever I was here. It's a pleasant view to see lots of malaysian arts products representing the culture of malaysian people (chinese, malay, indian and etcs).
the central market is a shopping place like many others. the building is nice, the fish spa is great, but the prices for buying things are extremly high. Even the museum shops have much lower prices ( e.g. a man face bug key ring was 14 MIR in the butterfly park and 28 MIR in Central Market). walk to nearby...

Visited this place twice and got many gifts for our friends, children and grand children. Old Town White Coffee House is worth a visit. Food is good and the hot and cold coffee is great.
I was unimpressed with Central Market's shops. It seemed like the typical touristy souveneirs, lots of plastic stuff, etc. There are some interesting restaurants and coffee shops to check out, and the building itself is beautiful. If you are a shopping fanatic, I'm sure you'll want to hit this up, but otherwise, it may not be worth your time.
I tought i would visit a cultural market, but i was wrong. Central Market and Kasturi Walk (beside central market) were only ordinary indoor and hawker market with no cultural impression beside the product/souvenir.
One of seller's staff from Indonesia told me "No cheap things in central market. We're here selling with tourist price, and it means high price. If...

Visited the famous central market in kuala lumpur after reading some positive reviews of this place. However, I found it quite expensive.Very few genuine shoppers could be seen whereas the majority were window shopping. All the items were overpriced n there were barely any discounts available.
Perhaps the only positive point was that it has now become airconditioned.
