Climbing up the 272 steps alongside fellow travellers and monkeys is quite fun. Once you're at the top, or into the cave, there are a few little temples that you can visit or pray in. For me, this was a great outing but not much of a pious one. The temple is more a tourist place than a praying place.... More

The place is really majestic and beautiful. Don't wear bright colors or else be attacked by the monkeys. Halfway up the long flight of stairs, there is a path that leads you to a different cave where there is a tour where you can sign up. A bit pricey, but go for it. These guys are quite professional and they... More

We went by metro which was very easy. There are over 270 steps to get to the temple. The steps seem scary but once you start climbing you can reach the top quite quickly. The views from the top are great. We got to the temple at Aarti time which was good to experience. We then went into the caves... More

Batu caves is really easy to get to from Sentral Station and isn't a horrible place to visit considering it is free. It is not the best either but makes for a fun little trip. I found Batu caves to be more like little India. It was a little bit crowded in the main thoroughfare but once you arrived to... More

We went by metro and it costed about 3 ringitts per person. The travelling was clean, easy and comfortable. The station is about 10 meters from the temple. when you go out of the station first you see a Vishnu temple(Balaji). This is a temple with south Indian traditions. Adjoining to this you will see the majestic and charming Hindu... More

Dirty, smelly and not safe... Just limit yourself to the view from the parking lot... Going up the stairs to end up in a dirty place is not really a must do...

If you don't have a heart attack climbing the steps, well worth it, very interesting. the day we went a Bollywood movie was being shot, didn't cause any disruption to the visitors. With the humidity and the climbing, if you sweat as much as me, talk a sweat towel with you, you'll thank me. Fresh coconut milk found the right... More

Travel to the Batu Caves on the KTM train is very easy from KL Sentral Station, its about a 20-30min ride and the caves and shrine are a short walk from the station entrance. The statue of Murugan is very impressive along with the many hindu shrines. What visitors must keep in mind that this is a religious site and... More

A few people gave this place a bad review and I'm so glad I didn't listen. It's only about 18km outside KL and you can get there by the rail system (found this out later) but even if you get a cab or a tour it's a great way to kill about 4 hours. The statues of the Hindu gods... More

Where here in january 2012. Fun! A must see if you're in Malaysia. The statue out front is very impressive in itself. When you walk up the stairs, do not forget to bring a bottle of water. The view from the top is amazing. Everywhere around you there are little monkeys running around. What made me cringe was that the... More
