Thanks to two very nice British people I met during my stroll in the Craft Centre, I went to these beautiful houses. The wooden house is a lovely witness of days long past. The white house that now serves as a multi functional cultural centre and as the office of Bandan Warisan is also worth a visit. A special mention... More

We really enjoyed our visit - it's amazing to find somewhere like this in the middle of KL. We did find it very difficult to locate - although the address is 2 Jalan Stonor, the entrance is actually located on Jalan Conlay, near the junction with Jalan Stonor, and the signage is quite poor. Once we eventually found our way... More

Tours at 11am and 3pm daily. We took the 3pm tour of this restored Malay house and had the guide to ourselves! The guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the house itself (which was originally moved from Northern Malaysia) and also Malay and Muslim culture. Not to be missed! Location - directly opposite The Grand Chulan Hotel on... More

Tried to visit the place on Monday 30 December 2012. So hard to locate! No signage or anything. When we finally got there, it was closed for unexplained reason. Not impressed. Would have been lovely to visit as the outside looked beautiful. Maybe next trip

Having opted to stay in central KL, surrounded by masses of skyscrapers,we heard from a Malaysian friend that there was a traditional Malay house, restored and preserved, right nearby. Not having retained the words "Rumah Penghulu" or "Badan Warisan" (we don't speak the language), we set off, but couldn't find it. No signposts! We asked taxi drivers where the Heritage... More

In glitzy, bling-oriented Kuala Lumpur, where foreign brands are more prominent than anything vaguely resembling patriotism or self-esteem, Rumah Penghulu is a little glimpse of a Malaysia with some respect for itself. The building was the home of a village leader from the north of peninsular Malaysia, salvaged from the jungle in the 1990s and painstakingly reconstructed in the heart... More

It is a malay traditional house in town. You may feel a kampung life style if you go inside it. Penghulu is a leader in malay community.

My husband and myself went for a quick trip to KL and stayed in a hotel near the KLCC. Since we were just there for a few days, we decided to not just go to malls and shopping destinations nearby. After all, visiting a new a country is about learning about its heritage - at least for us. Rumah Penghulu... More

Me and my wife visited the Rumah Penghulu tour in Kuala Lumpur. We had a day spare in Malaysia before flying back to the UK and really wanted to visit this property - we had also visited a Badan Warisan property in Malaka and very much enjoyed it. We entered the Head Quarters of Badan Warisan and were warmly met... More

Incredibly steep walk up to the base of the tower if you're considering. There's a free bus service from the entrance up to the tower. The views are fantastic and much, much more to see than KLCC Twin Towers.
