Wonderful experience, but you NEED A GUIDE - ours decided she needed a rest and cleared off.

Allow yourself a lot of time to take in the entire site...at least 2-3 hours. Comfortable shoes...much walking required. Even the parking area is at least a half mile from the actual site.

But that is to be expected in China. The terra-cotta warriors is a must see. You don't go to Xi'an without seeing them.

We have seen the pictures and seen this on TV so it was as expected. The warriors are stored in vast very nice buildings. And that is the problem. The vastness of the buildings overwhelm the warriors. Also, they are a fair distance from the viewing galleries

I you only have time to see one thing in Xian, it must be the Terracotta Soldiers which is why 95% of the visitors come here I suppose. It all looks likes the pictures and if you come early at 8.30 am you will have it all for yourself!!
