Stayed at Derevenka looking down on the frozen lake. Magic! Dog sledding and skidoos on the ice are must-do's. Fantastic experiences. A few nice and reasonably priced eating places, but Listvjanka is scattered along the main road and you can end up walking loads without your own transport. Museum disappointing.

If you like to experience the lake, then you have to go see Listvyanka. The town is nearly dead when we visited in November, though still plenty of things to see and do. Go visit the local fish market, Lake Baikal Museum, the nearby ski area or just scroll around the lake. I agree with what is said in some... More

Came here in winter, as a side visit during a Transiberian railway holiday. Worth the trip, Lake Baikal is beautiful. Snowmobiles are a great way to get around.

We arrived here at a very Siberian day; cold wind, snow.. We headed for the fish market, the Omul was great. Besides that there wasn't very much to do or see.

This is a potentially beautiful village which is spout by tacky unfriendly tourist cafes, restaurants and B&B's. Its a real shame because it has so much potential.

If you have time to travel out to Lake Baikal and visit the small town of Listvjanka I would suggest you will enjoy it. (it is about an hour's drive from Irkutsk). The town has a couple of nice markets where you can buy the local specialty - hot smoked ommel (kind of like smoked trout), very tasty; you can... More

Whenever in Irkutsk, don't miss the chance to swim at the Baikal lake. Its very close - a 40 minute rid on a van - and very cozy little beach like lakeside.

Not a pretty town imo, the most beautiful parts are if you hike up the trails to Bolshie Koty. The one skirting the shore is not recommended if you are afraid of heights, the actual GBT trail starts in the valley and doesn’t follow the shore. If you do take the one along the shore, make sure to climb up... More

The town is quaint. Lake Baikal is beautiful. It is quiet and a great place to relax. It could be a bit boring for solo travelers but as a couple we really enjoyed it.

the city of Listvjanka is quiet small but by the lake - the food is great (we had shashlik) and the weather was great.
