We visited for 3-4 hours on an organised trip. Specially enjoyed wandering round the gardens on a glorious sunny day - the fountains are tremendous.

Peterhof is a wonderful place to see! When I was there, I spent about 10 hours walking and staring at beautiful fountains, thinking about imperial russian family. You'd better come here without any excursions because it's more interesting to discover everything by yourself. I was so impressed with the architecture of the palace, with the HUGE garden with thousands of...

Peterhof Palace was an interesting place to visit. It was completely refurbished after WWII but if you didn't know that it would be impossible to tell. All the details have been recreated down to the elaborate gilding. The gardens were extensive. Being early May, there wasn't much blooming, but it was a relaxing pleasure to stroll the paths among the...

Very nice palace. You can reach there by road or by water. I would recommend trying out both. You may reach by waterways and return by road. There are lots of beautiful fountains. Considering there is beauty in its large gardens it will require lot of walking. Consider hiring battery operated buggies.

If it rains (or God forbid, still snows!) then it's not the place where you want to end up because the magnificent views really only come to their own in the sunshine. I can imagine this is a wonderful place in the summer but in Russian spring, it was somewhat unpleasant. And the palace itself isn't anywhere near as much...

Only visited the gardens, due to time constraints, but traveled to Petehof on the hydrofoil which was an experience in itself! Lovely gardens to wonder around, and the house is beautiful. Unfortunately no flowers out in May, but the fountains were worth the visit.
In May 2013, we visited this palace. Beautiful interiors and park surrounding the palace, but unfortunately the whole exterior of the palace was covered by large sheets for reconstruction work. Since the palace is supposed to be very pretty, this was a sad fact to find out upon arrival. Entrance tickets to the park are very expensive with 500 rubles...

We had a half day in St. Petersburg and decided to take the boat to Peterhof. What should have been a relatively easy and hassle free experience turned out to be a nightmare. Absolut lack of information in the ticket office, long queues and, half an hour late the boat finally departed. 10 minutes after departure (we where just leaving...

About an hours drive from st petersburg but well worth the travel. We visited both palace and gardens. We came as a tour group so had the privilege of timed entry, so no queues for us! The palace rooms are just amazing, the restoration work is unbelievable, one skilled worker, responsible for the restoration to the chinese room was awarded...
