Very nice building restored and is a modern shopping mall. A restaurant on top floor next to Samsung experience center offers pretty good Russian fast food. FREE toilet also outside the Samsung store.

After marching around Moscow, taking in numerous sights, we were looking for something more relaxed and calming. Wondering around GUM was a great way to spend an hour. The building was absolutely beautiful and you can take some great pictures either at the bottom looking up or visa versa. The shops are high end designer labels. However they were IDE....

We usually go here to enjoy vodka in the Gastronom No. 1. Once again, not a place for serious shopping, at least not for a traveller on a budget or even mid-range. We often wonder whether those are price tags or telephone numbers. But the building is beautiful and a landmark in its own right and a must-visit while you're...

We found ourselves in GUM twice. once with our guide who explained what this arcade was when he was young,40 years ago, and we went back ourselves at night to walk around. We enjoyed browsing the gourmet market, and watching the people. There was an interesting store with electronics and appliances, some of which we don't have in the USA...

Gum is a shopping arcade on Red Square. It is clean, light and airy, with excellent shops. They tend to the designer end of the market, so you will not find anything cheap here.
For most tourists, however, its real value is as a place to rest your weary feet and get some refreshment. There are several cafes, including an...

This overlooks Red Square in a beautiful arched building, however there were no prices on anything and it was all serious designer stuff, you know the saying, if you need to ask then you cant afford, it shows you how affluent some Muscovites really are.
A big shopping centre made from three rows of buildings. It is attractive inside and quite large. At the end of the day, it is a shopping mall like those found in most countries with the usual brands.
i bought Russian black bread there for about 50 kopecks with some thick cheese. it was 25 below zero and some were swimming in the heated pool down the street and buying ice cream as they came out. the lines were about a hour long and large Russians in fur hats bumped and shuffled me back and forth until i...

Gret fun to visit for the spectacle of the building and glitzy high-end stores. Not the place to bag a bargain though. A good tip is to head to the top floor at the St Basil's end of the store for a really good cafeteria-style eaterie that serves interesting Russian food at very reasonable prices. Delicious!
Definitely visit Gastronom #1 on the ground floor. It's a Soviet style grocery store designed in a very luxurious fashion. You can buy some authentic pieces of Russian and Soviet cuisine. For me it's a little nostalgic, for visitors it will be an interesting experience.
