The Tretyakov Gallery has a wonderful collection of Russian art at it's main location, providing a very different view of Russian history through the eyes of its artists. The portraits of notable Russians, like Pushkin and Ivan the IV bring a new perspective to these individuals and their times. The layout is a bit confusing and the use of the...

I visited the Gallery recently with some friends. I very much enjoyed seeing all the different art work, from a part of the world I was not familiar with at all.
You never feel the Russians are the stuck up sort, so everyone seems to be enjoying themselves, despite all russian women being dressed super glamorous, but thats not due...

I decided to go to the gallery one rainy afternoon - having read the many posts about how expansive the gallery was but not really thinking much of them! BUT it is a very big gallery!!! The range of art in here is impressive - even if you are not a very "artsy" person, the gallery is absolutely worth the...

This is also one of those museums that "must see" in Moscow. I think that it is best to check my photos to see is it something that interest you. Delighted to go on a free entry day. The galleries are superb. Functions like a national gallery with a good number of portraits. The Russian landscape artists are well worth seeing. The rub lev icon of the Trinity is tucked away in a secure corner and is not to be missed.

This gallery is very deceiving. From the outside this looks small but once inside it opens up into a variety of rooms with some wonderful pieces of art. There are a variety of shops to pick up some souveniers.
