Mum and I were there but sadly, the temple was being renovated and repainted for preservation purpose. Hence, we could only immerse in its view from the outer compound. Nevertheless, the temple held its own beauty and history. Wish I could explore the temple more when i'm in Kuching again =)

As the previous reviews say - for us, Europeans, a visit was interesting. Watching people come and pray, reading a bit about the temple from the guide. Kind of trying to catch a glimpse of different religion, so different from ours. We liked the architecture.

Not blasphemous but there is nothing special. Being ethnic chinese myself, Tua Pek Kong temple is often used by devotees for eccentric and unrealistic wishes like winning 4D, gambling and stuffs. I guess there is no exception for this. But i liked the culture and its architecture, don't really know its history i walked and pass by along carpenter street... More

Maybe I've seen too many but what can I say - it's a temple with a lot of history and if you're a western tourist, you may find it interesting. For the rest of us, it's just another temple.

Worth visit around this temple and read about the history. Make a wish and it might comes true. It located opposite Chinese museum. You can found a nice 'ais kacang' outside the temple.
