We visited the garden in the middle of June, but obviously it is not the season. There were altogether three flowers, but otherwise it was still nice to take the boat on the other side of the river and have at least a short walk.

Just catch a boat across the river and after a short walk you'll reach an orchid garden. Colours and number of species are overwhelming. There's also a good souvenir shop and a small cafe. Nice, tranquil place. The entrance is free of charge.

Very pretty when the orchids in flower. Situated next to the Governor of Sarawak's residence, the white building, and the huge golden temple like government building on the north side of the Sarawak river. The river crossing is not to be missed!!!!

Its free, its just a couple of minutes boatride from Kuching waterfront and its a lovely garden to while away an hour or so in. In May however the orchids in bloom were few and far between. Most start to flower in June. However its not fair to mark the garden down because the flowers have their particular lifecycle.

It is not comparable to Singapore Orchid garden. But when you will to the other site of the city, why not to see it. It is free.

Across the river from the visitors center and a short walk to the garden. Opens at 9:30 and is beautifully landscaped. Many orchids of all shapes and colors. Many were in bloom but being there at their peak would be pretty incredible. Only phase 1 is open now but it looks like phase 2 will about double the size. Well... More

You can get across to these by taking a little boat across the water front for 1Rm. We couldn't believe the entry was free to the garden. The area is beautiful it's like being in a deserted island - palm trees and long roads with amazing scenery. The guards at the gardens were friendly and spoke good English. The gardens... More

The Orchid Garden has many beautiful blooming orchids. It is well maintained and very clean. Even the toilets are in excellent condition. The security staff is very helpful especially one particular Pakcik (I'm sorry I did not get his name) who is ever willing to spend time explaining other places of interests as well. All the other staff are friendly... More
