This recently rebuilt cable railway is much faster than it's predecessor. The views over the harbour are great, if a little hazy. However for foreigners it is quite overpriced in relation to what it offers

It has potential but a little basic.. The new cable car is great and nice to have a beautiful cafe up there with a great view. Other than that not a lot to keep you busy.. However there is the option of hiking up which I am sure is great fun not to mention healthy ;)
Before March this year, my last trip there was 13 years ago. I was absolutely anxious to see how it looked like now and of course more excited to get the chance to bring my 12year daughter there. And also being able to be there again with my present husband meant a lot too. My first impression was o dear....can...

But have to go through the long queue to buy tickets and waiting for the train. Paid rm10 for visiting the owl museum which the tour last like 10mins or so..not worth i think unless you are the owl lover. Anyway you may enjoy the spectacular view of Georgetown.
you have the more expensive tickets for foreigner, but its worth it. Time it an hour before dusk, you can see the city in daylight and watch the night lights appear, the view is very nice at night. We were a little late, so we couldnt make it all the way to "monkey cup hill or something like that" ,...

We had a nice couple of hours at Penang Hill. The views are spectacular and it was nice to be out of steamy Georgetown and in a cooler climate for a while. You can go for a walk, there's (somewhat randomly) an Owl Museum, some places to get food and drinks, at least one Hindu temple and a mosque, and...

Hotel Bellevue is worth patronizing. 2 days 1 night is worth for cool climate, peace and quiet evening. The temperature plummets from 8pm onwards, during windy and rainy days, the mist and fog come right through the hotel and blanket the entire deck restaurant.
Steamboat dinner is a must! while sitting with the steamy pot of soup infront of you, covered...

Nice view of the Penang sea from the top! Love the sunrise view especially and the cooling temperature and lovely colonial houses. However i wish the hotel will be of a better standard as it is really an unpolished gem in a highly potential spot.
You can see the history of Penang unfold before your eyes as you look out over the island. You can even experience rapid climate changes; misty and rainy on one side of the hill and clear sunny views on the other.
The history of the railway is incredible; the engineering, labour and everything about it makes you appreciate the efforts...

Cool weather and awesome view of the island from the hill. You can opt for the train ride or hike all the way up to the hill. There are also several attractions and eateries at the top of the hill. Great for exploring but don't put up high expectations on the attractions; the hill itself is quite small actually. Try...
