It is spring time but the lake remained frozen on top. The short track to walk there is covered with snow. There is virtually no green colour aprt from the tall pine trees, not to talk about flowers. One can imagine the much better view in summer time. However it is very tranquil as the road remains difficult to go... More

A nice place up in the mountains, quiet and so much different than in town. Even during sumer time are the peaks covered with snow. Give good pictures.

You must go and see. But to going there a little bit hard. Atleast you can go there only for one hour by car.

Almaty is situated in mountains. There are many many places now constructed during last 5-10 years around the city. BAL - one of the favorite place to visit for Almaty residents. Now it's very easy. Road was fully reconstructed and it's beautiful with asphalt. Any car can go there without any trouble. Lake itself is guarded because it's a source... More

I remember time when getting to the Lake was either down a beat up road or along a metal pipe... Those times are long gone!
