The moment we stepped in the hammamet medina i was immediatly harrased by shop owners. I was fully prepared for this so laughed it off, however a couple of street sellers preceeded to follow me through the medina, grabbing my arm etc. i found this rather upsetting.

Lots of hassling. You need to be in good mental strength to deal with the relentless shouts for your business.

Be pre-pared to say No! and Be very firm, but apart from that you will find some amazing deals, and the locals are friendly and will be a laugh if you respect their traditions

Go in the back way not through the front entrance and just wander, you can not get lost it is small. Some of the doors and tiles here are just beautiful, the light is amazing and you wont be able to put your camera away. When you get to the shops just be polite and say no thank to sellers... More
