Our Wedding was truly beautiful on Heart Island, we were blessed with a beautiful fall day on October 10,2009...it is truly a romantic wedding location. And it's free other than paying for your guests admission of $6.50/person...where else can you get married at a beautiful castle for that price? It was truly amazing and breathtaking to walk down a flight... more

We went to Boldt Castle as a romantic getaway. Over all is was pretty good but I found it a little overdone. Beautiful, but just overdone. Almost nothing that is in the house actually belonged to the family that had owned it. I was disappointed by that. I was expecting to learn lots about the family that had built this... more

We had a delightful time taking the ferry over to Heart Island, exploring the grounds and buildings as well as learning the fascinating history of Boldt Castle and the 1000 Islands. The house is still in the renovation process, but the finished rooms and many incomplete rooms as well are open to the public, which I actually found more interesting... more

We found Boldt Castle while traveling along the Seaway Trail capturing and exploring lighthouses, Niagra Falls, train rides and forts. It was the "icing on the cake" for our trip. Thank you for installing the elevator as the friend I was traveling with has been confined to a wheelchair for 30 years. It was quite exciting for both of us... more

The castle is under restoration, so there are empty rooms on the upper floors. However, the areas that have been restored are beautiful. Despite the ongoing repairs, the castle still has an air of grandeur and touring it and the island made for an enjoyable afternoon. We took the Two Country cruise (very scenic!) and stopped here on the return,... more

My boyfriend and I were staying in A-bay so we decided to take the Uncle Sam's ferry to Boldt Castle (which was $16 CAD) that boat ride was 10 minutes...when we got there it was another $9.00 Cad each to see the castle and the yatch house. I was very excited. When we walked around we couldnt go in the... more

A monument to love and extravagance, Boldt Castle - a 120-room mansion of granite, concrete and steel - is a must-see when visiting New York's Thousand Islands region. The self-guided tour makes seeing Boldt Castle relatively easy with younger children. Abandoned in 1904 by its builder, hotel magnate George Boldt, the castle and other buildings were never used and stood... more

Rating 3.5 Wonderful place to tour. It is a self guided tour with lots of walking and steps. The only way to get to Boltdt Castle on Hart Island is by boat. If you have the time take the "Two Country Tour". Check before go and make sure the tours and boats are running. If you like the Boldt Castle... more

We recently took the boat tour to see Boldt Castle and it was incredible! I'd been there 13 years ago, and went back with my husband and two tweens this time, all were impressed. I was especially impressed with all the work that has taken place since I was last there - the first floor is furnished and just breathtaking.... more

I have watched the Yacht House through its renovations and am amazed each year by its magnificent beauty and golden glitter in the evening sunset on THE BAY! Marge Danzer Pleasant Garden, NC more
