Walked around galle (pronoused gaul)....lovely beach for just lazing... This place is known for its maritime history. Ask around for Aman Villa if you are looking for food,coffee or just a clean bathroom :) More

It's really and old small "european" town within the fort walls. If you arrive by publc transport to the bus station (or Railway station) local guys will try to "help" you: their typical story is that there's a VIP govermental guest at the fort and therefore it's closed for tourists.
