These royal tombs of the Silla Dynasty are huge. These tombs have yielded priceless artifacts from the Silla dynasty, from gold crowns to 1,500 year old murals. Gyeongju at its height, (7th-9th century), was one of the largest cities in the world. It dwarfed the relatively small populations of London and Paris at the time. The kings of Silla had... More

The locals called it Daerungwon. Cheonmachong Tomb is within Daerungwon. Admission is 1,500 won. This park is well kept and soothing music is played in the background.

A nice, peaceful park around the tombs of the Silla royalty. It's a nice place for a picnic or just to soak in the history that surrounds you and the city of Gyeongju.

The group of grassy mounds give a mysterious feeling to the area and is a pleasant area to walk around. There is a nice lily pond and seating around to take it all in and to have a respite from the sightseeing.

This place makes a surrealistic stroll preferably morning or evening when the light is soft and the shadows are long. Not much to do there except to walk around and take it all in. There is of course the golden crown of the Cheongmachong-not to be missed.

A great place to exercise and early in the morning you will see many locals exercising here. The tombs looks like small hills. The most interesting one is one that is two hills together which is presumably a husband and wife buried together. Another interesting one is the Heavenly Horse Tomb which you can go inside. The Tomb of King... More

Also known as Tumuli Park, this hosts a series of large royal burial mounds. Its a nice place to spend an hour or two just wandering, even to sit and contemplate. You'll either get treated to lush greeniness all around or when I want, an equally beautiful hue of yellow. Like most of Gyeongju, it offers a peace and serenity... More
