Nice museum which gives a genuine idea about Indonesian art. Lovely gardens and a very nice coffeehouse.

I love visiting museum, and this has became one of my fave. I like history. They put adequate information in each of the painting and picture. They also have adequate information in the brochure. Helpful staff to direct as to visit each of the building. And they also include a complementary drink in the ticket. It was nice after we... More

I took my 10 year old daughter as she loves art. It was a beautiful tranquil place tucked in amongst the busyness of Ubud. I didn't have to pay the $5.00 entry fee for my daughter, which I thought was very generous. That included a welcome drink for us both. There were not a lot of people there when we... More

The day I went to the museum there was hardly anyone there, so it was very peaceful and serene. Though the art collections are minimal, they are interesting and diverse. The grounds and gardens are lovely. A man was playing the gamelan outside one of the buildings, which gave me a relaxing chance to sit and listen in the shade... More

We visited every pavilion and wandered extensively round the grounds. The place was calm and tranquil (maybe we were lucky to be amongst just a few couples visiting that day - pre-high season) and the signs were informative. We both felt we learnt something about Balinese art, ancient and contemporary, as well as Balinese culture in general. No pushy guides... More

Excellent museum st in beautiful gardens well worth a stroll around. A small oasis of peace and tranquillity away from the tourist hoards on the streets of Ubud -oh and the taxi drivers touting for business!

For a small fee, we spent a lovely two hours wandering around this museum. We did not see a single other person so it felt as if we had the place to ourselves ~ rather surreal. There is much to see and absorb and the grounds are very grand. Well worth a visit.

I headed for this museum because it was so close to where we staying, and I'm glad I did. The $5 admission fee was well worth it for 3 big houses of paintings and sculptures (and lovely grounds). I'm a little shocked at the heat & humidity in the buildings as far as how these paintings are to be preserved... More
