There was probably a reason why our driver had no idea where the place was. I can't believe the guide book said this was a must see. I imagine at one point this place was nice, but it seems to have been neglected. All the structures were falling apart, the "gardens" were all over grown, there were dead leaves and... More

The Botanic Gardens are nice and the concept is sound, although there could be more orchids and more flowers (and more beauty). I would have enjoyed it a lot more but for the vast amounts of mosquitoes, which made relaxing a bit difficult--four of us being bitten at least ten times in the half hour we were there. The entrance... More

Not much things to see. It is just a clean and beautiful garden with several statues. It is nice for a quick stop for taking photos. This garden's area is very very big, at the back side of garden filled with many tropical trees. It's an idea place for picnic on Saturday or Sunday. The entrance fee is IDR 15,000/person.

Since the death of the founder this lovely garden site has decayed for lack of upkeep in spite of a bit of effort by some. The lower toilets were awful and should be torn down or rebuilt.

It is clearly a waste f time and money to go there. The garden is not maintained at all so you actually visit a jungle. Nice but there is plenty of free walk to do for free around Ubud in the rice paddies / jungle.

A green oasis in the hustle of "modern Ubud" with traffic jams and shopping roads..the "Botanical Garden" offers silence, plants (with tags and descriptions) and nice places to sit and rest.. "in the botanic".. good for every plant lover..

My visit to this place is proof that Lonely Planet is completely out of touch with reality. I was riding my bike out of town and saw the sign for the "gardens". LP said "totally worth a visit". AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL!! Overgrown.. Can't tell the weeds from the plants. Rarely saw a plant description sign and if I did it... More

Having spent a considerable amount of time in Ubud over the past 12 years having stumbled accross the Botanical gardens only yesterday, I felt a little amiss for not giving my support sooner. I can understand the comments from those of you living in countries where governments fund beautifully manicured gardens, that you may see a visit to these magical... More

This place must be avoided in Ubud. It is completely derelict and downright dangerous: the paths are slippery, there are no guard rails at very dangerous places and the toilets are disgusting. In addition, a map provided of the property showed a cafe, but it was completely pulled down! Despite being very careful, I slipped and hurt myself, jarring my... More

Rp 50,000 for a rundown overgrown garden. Very disappointing. 1/4 and well-kept would be better. There was nowhere to sit and enjoy, and the front desk offered us mozzie repellent. Depressing!
