The tallest peak in Ooty was cold and windy in this monsoon weather. Carry wram jackets/hats or you can buy them from vendors. We expected crowds as it is close to Ooty. Lovely dahlias and other blooms cheered us in the cold weather. Awesome views of Ooty town below when the clouds parted. The drive is ok and be warned...

Nice location but crowded. Don't buy tea from here as it is costly. A trip in the morning will be good.
Having been to Kodanadu Point on an earlier trip, Doddabetta was a big disappointment. Just too crowded and as a result lots of litter. While it is close to Ooty and so convenient to reach, better to locate other walking trails than take the effort of joining the hordes here.
It's quite a trek along with small kids from parking lot to the actual Peak but it is worth the effort. The place is well maintained and neat and clean. Do go to the point from where you can see the whole Ooty valley from the three sides of this peak. Good place for some nice family snaps.
It is merely 10 kms from Ooty so you can simply grab your camera and head straight to the peak, and click amazing pictures of the valley below. but the road facility very poor. and climate also not good.
Amazing! Through the telescope you can see - Tribal house, Dolfin nose, Entrance to Black thunder resort at mettupalayam and waterfall. Beaware of monkeys. The road is worst with full of potholes.
Its the highest peak of the south.but as per my expirience its an average place for photography.its well maintained.weather will be quite better as it will be much cold tham other spots.
Dodabetta is the highest peak in the Nilgiri mountains. However we could not enjoy the place due to heavy rush and trafiic jam throughout the way to Dodabetta. There is a telescope house at the top where 2 telescopes were fitted for a distant view. However, both of them were focussed only at the main street of ooty city and...

Doddabetta Peak is the second highest mountain in the region (in Nilgiri range) at a majestic height of 2637 mtrs. The road leading to the peak is in itself worth travelling. From the Observatory (Peak Point), you can have a panoramic view of the near by places. On a day with clear sky one can see OOTy on one side,...
