only part of the palaces remains, but looks really big and nice, considering the time period when it was build, you can appreciate the architecture and size of the building.

a place to visit - it has lot of things to understand - Myself & family thoroughly enjoyed & no doubt about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can imagine this place as an impressive palace/museum. The palace pillars and the ceiling art design was impressive. There were three (3) very impressive wall paintings of gods with surprisingly preserved colors. And here and there are busts and statues dating back to antiquity. However, the place was not only poorly maintained, but the layout of art works and...

It has a entrance fee of Rs 10 or 15. Once you enter the main gate you see these huge pillars and the assembly hall. The museum was seriously very good, you will find a number of statues of gods dated back to 11-12th century.
Architecture was really very good, each pillar is different. If you love photography then you...

Good to be there and we visited this place for the general awarness and the time we spend is good and we felt very relaxing. The pillars are nice and I heared many song senes are done in this Mahal in Tamil Movies
I may have missed a connection here, but in my opinion a visit to the palace can be skipped without harm. It is better to read up about the history of Madurai in your hotel and skip this palace. The palace just appears fake and is not worth your time. There is much else to visit in Madurai.
If you want to know the history of king thirumalai then can go and attend light and sound show which is from 6.45pm. Otherwise nothing to see.
A very good architecture and a huge construction makes this place a favorite. Even if it is not maintained very well, still recommended to visit. There are very old statues as well and some old paintings you can see. They can make it a better place.
The majority of the palace architecture was reused in making a new palace by Thirumala Nayakar's son. Based on what ever is remaining at present, Tamil Nadu tourism organizes a daily Sound and Light Show at 7pm with a ticket of Rs.50/- for indians; which would be worth attending. This place has enough space for tourist car parking and is...

The Huge oversized Tall Pillars are the main attraction of this Palace . To get real idea of its hugeness you have to stand near the one of the pilllars. Courtyard and some interior part which is now musuem , are the things which we can visit now.
