If you want to give yourselves an outing of a different nature, then do visit Dhyanalingam. The beautiful complex on the foothills of Velliangiri prepares you right from the entrance. After an awesome view of Rudra, Hara and Sadhashiva, the three forms of Shiva beautifully depicted, one is taken on a guided tour of the Theerthakundam, a 5.5 ft pond with a... We (10 family members) were there for 2 night stay in last august. I having been taken a meditation course at my place came to know the beauty and uniqueness of Isha center and Dyanalinga. temple. With all the hype in background we still enjoyed the place. You have a calm, peaceful, silent atmosphere filled with greenery which is very... More

It was my 9th visit to the temple and 10th visit is already planned, tickets booked !!! my personal experience: temple has been very neatly managed and has a underling theme of presenting things in raw form instead of refining it to suit the taste of City / artificial ways of life. Volunteers are too good and their politeness /... More

A very unique temple. The place is still being developed but as someone who prefers mysticism to ritualism, the Dhyanalinga Temple is right up my street. A temple with no rituals as it is a space to help meditation. When I sit in there I'm jus fascinated how I'm able to sit in there and meditate for long periods. Time... More

As a curious sceptic, I was really looking forward to spending a couple of days at Isha Yoga Centre on the recommendation of a friend from Coimbatore. Depending on the time of year and any special events happening, you may need to contact your local Isha Foundation representative a few weeks in advance of your visit to guarantee a room.... More

I have been a regular visitor to the Dhyanalinga Temple since 2004 and my latest visit was on March 10, 2013 for the MAHASHIVARATHRI celebrations at Isha Yoga Centre. The premises has now been expanded to include a seperate bathing pond called SURYAKUND for men. Inspite of lot of construction work going on, one could still feel the serenity and... More

One thing about Dhyanlinga ,I can say is it is beyond my imagination. All structures are manmade . A mercury linga(solid in room temp) immersed in a pool of water meant for bathing (Tirthkunda), very disciplined line (ticket) and separate time slot for men and women to experience a spiritual receptivity. A very large Shivalinga in the middle of a... More

People respond to the energy of a place in different ways. I liked the Theerut kund with the submerged mercury. Felt refreshed and liked the space created to take a 'dip'. I liked the cleanliness of the place. The canteen food was tasty and reasonable. Apart from these positives: - - I felt the place was too antiseptic...I prefer the old... More
