Other than a few kids selling maps and requesting pens there was nobody to be seen when we went to Bada Bagh at sunset. The colors of the chattries were astounding and made for great pics. We rented a scooter from Jaisalmer and enjoyed the short ride. Later we went to a nearby temple which was surrounded by peacocks.

A gud place to see and enjoy. This place has a lot of history attached to it as it consists of graves of a no. of Kings of Jaisalmer. A gud view from this place as it is placed at somewhat height from rest of the place. There are a no. of windmills on the road to it which present... More

I had amazing time sitting among the chhatris of Bada Bagh. I almost meditated as you witness the history that has passed by. The backdrop of Bada Bagh has power generation through windmills!

It is Royal family Cremation ground for Royal family. New cenotaph is made on the death of family member. It is completed by their grandsons. It is repeating from years. Small statues of kings & their queens are placed in the cenotaphs. Made of golden stones with lots of carving. Good to click photos there. A small lake & a... More

I was fortunate enough to bring a tour guide. Without a guide to tell you the history and stories of the maharawals the visit would be subpar. Yes, of course the photography is good but you need to hear the stories of their lives to bring a cemetary...or cremation ground to life.

Bada Bagh, is a garden complex about 6 km north of Jaisalmer on way to Ramgarh or Tanot mandir and goes by the name badabagh cenotaphs(chhatris). Beautiful carvings on roofs and good place for photography. Just enjoy the peaceful environment , surrounded by windmills. Entry fees Rs 50 per head and camera chargable.

This is a fairly frequented tourist spot that one should visit when in Jaisalmer. The cenotaphs at bada bagh are a photographers delights - with multiple-columns adorned by domed roofs, this gives you endless possibilities to play around with your composition. Suggest you go around sunrise or sunset

This place was a cremation place for the royals, it is said. Its not a crowded place( no one except us was seen there) and as you enter some youths will follow you with request to hire them as the guide, which made us uncomfortable and we returned without fully seeing the place, also because it didn't seemed to be... The structure of Bada Bagh seems to grow from the sand. It looks like wind itself sculptured the architecture around there. If you are lucky apart from memorials you will see authentic Indian wedding ceremonies.

Bada Bagh is situated about 6 kilometres from Jaisalmer on the way to Ramgarh. Literally meaning 'big garden', Bada Bagh is the name of a memorial garden that houses the 'chattris' (cenotaphs) of the nobles (and their families) of the erstwhile Princely State of Jaisalmer. Each individual's death was recorded on a tablet and a memorial constructed over it. The... More
