If you have seen a few forts in Rajasthan you have to be into forts to enjoy this one as well. But if you have only seen one or two, it is definiatly worth checking this out as well. The guided tours are however a bit rushed, and you don't have much time to really see the things being shown.

Well worth a visit on your trip to Bikaner - a red fort, not the best in Rajasthan but still interesting in places. Make sure you get the audio guide!!!

Started in the 16th century, this is an imposing structure in the centre of Bikaner. Keep an eye out for the biplane in one of the rooms. Actually you can't miss it. There is an interesting audience chamber and swinging chair and also the peaceful courtyard. Inside the gates there is a lovely view of the east side of the... More

If you visited different forts in India, you will have another real pleasure to see this very amazing fort. The courtyards, the different rooms etc. as well as the small museum are a must to visit.

This fort, Junagarh Fort , was built in the 16th century by Raja Rai Singh, is a must see, but with a guide to get the full benefit. It is just fill of interesting things from an 1918 aeroplane to intricate marble decorations, carvings, mirror work and paintings plus lots more. Absolutely fascinating and you need to allow at least... More

I enjoyed visiting this Fort. I did not like the city, but the Fort is a must. It is one of the few major forts in Rajasthan which is not built on a hilltop.

This is also called Junagarh Fort. It's worth seeing if you're in the area, even though I saw more impressive forts and royal palaces elsewhere in Rajasthan. My favourite exhibits were the royal bedrooms (beautiful carvings and decorations) and the last hall with its aeroplane inside. It was also fun to look down at the royal gardens, see where the... I thought I'd seen enough forts but each one is different. Well worth a visit. A beautiful white marble courtyard etc. Ask your guide for special entry (R100) into additional appartments

This is a very good example of the style in which the Maharajas of old lived. The plane inside the palace is also indicative of their need to bring India into the 21st century.
