We recommend a close reading of the other reviews of this attraction. You need to be certain it is something you would enjoy. We found the road to Raigad as poor as other reviewers - slow driving and badly maintained. When we arrived there were school parties waiting to go up on the ropeway and we had a long wait... More

I have visited this fort three times. Trek to this for itself is enjoyable. Now days one can enjoy ropeway facility too. On top of fort guides are available. If you don'y know about history of the fort and importance of remains on fort, please hire a guide. Best time to visit is from Oct to May but best time... More

It was totally not on my list of hotspots. We were on the way to Mahabaleshwar, when we saw a sign board saying "Raigad Fort - 30 Km". Thought for a while whether to try or not. Tried trip advisor which said, it would take 3 hours trekking. Still thought of doing it. Thanks to the thought, that i could... More

This fort is a must view for history buffs. When I visited long ago there was no Roapway and our group started climbing in the evening on full moon day. We reached the top after 4 hours and slept under open sky. It was great to see all the stars. Noted Historian Babasaheb Purandare was with us and we took... More

I planned a visit to Fort Raigad considering the significance given the pursuits of Shivaji Maharaj at the location. It felt good to have visited the site but I was extremely disappointed by the level (of rather the lack) of maintenance and the terrible facilities for visitors. I went to Raigad from Mahabaleshwar. It takes around 3 hours one way... More

A amazing fact goes for the fort that water would go down the fort and only wind would be able to come in the fort. Such was the vision of the architect who build upto 300 strong building inside the fort to make Raigad a grand thing. While awaiting your turn at the rope-way ground take a glimpse of the... More

The place overall is very good and will take you back in history. Would suggest before going there take a peak on google and try to understand the significance. Hiring a tour guide is good option but be beware for they are actually touts who bargain for one rate and later on after finishing the visit will demand extra money... More
