the beach, if it can be called that, was more like a rubbish dump which absolutely stunk and at one point I nearly retched. Clean it up it deserves it, if not for yourselves but for the tourists, if you want them that is!

A better beach in Cochin. Not very clean. Too crowded. But you do not have another choice.Noisy. Its nearly 40-45 minutes drive from Kadavanthara, Cochin.

Nice beach, But small roads, you need to drive around a kilometer to park your vehicle. But the good thing is you can jump to the beach from where ever you have parked.

The beach is very clean. Apt place for taking bath in sea. Snacks are available near the beach. A Drive from this place for about 3kms you can find good hotels.

It was not as we expected. Beach was good but we were told that it was much better before the Tsunami.

Got the ferry to Vipin Island which was cheap and quick, then got a bus from the ferry port which took about 30/40 minutes. It's then 70rupee when in Cherai for a tuk tuk to the beach. Try walking up left/southwards along the beach for a more secluded experience.

One of the better beaches near by Kochi. This beach also has a slant beach typical to most places in Kerala , which means that you need to go down into the sea a bit to ensure that you are not pumped with the silt & sand carried by the sea. Going down into the sea can be dangerous as... More

If you're staying in Kochi you will know that the beaches in town - Kochi Beach and Gandhi Beach - are not exactly the best in the subcontinent. (In fact if you really want a gorgeous beach scene go down to Kovalam or up to Goa). But Cherai Beach is in fact decent with a nice wide sandy beach. And... More

Stayed at les Trois Elephants. Excellent- comfortable and welcoming. Cherai Beach was a little rough- rubbish nearby and loads of crows. Not a great choice of places to eat outside of our accommodation.
