As I am interested in history, I made it a point to visit the Jewish synagogue and Jew Town. Apparently the Jewish population in Kochi is fast diminishing. Reports state that only nine Jews remain. The street leading to the synagogue is lined with tourist shops. You need to be properly attired to enter the synagogue... bare shoulders and skirts/shorts... More

The wall paintings are well worth seeing. The building is quite interesting and there is a little bit of history here, but it is the murals that make this worth visiting. More

The admission price is incredibly cheap - unlike many other sites in India, there are no separate prices for foreigners - and the section on local Keralan history... More

The palace gave a glimpse of the Royalty in Kerala, the advent of the Dutch. There were items of histomrical importance and the explanations alongside each item was self explanatory. Value for money and would recommend More

For the entry fee you pay, which is amazingly cheap even for foreigners, this is a great place to learn about Cochin history and to escape the sun. More

Interesting for an hour, I do like my history so it was worth going...just don't expect to be... More

The palace doesn't look impressive at all from outside, but once inside it completely changes your perception. The museum is well-maintained, and what especially fascinated me were the unfinished frescoes. More

The Mattancherry Palace is one of the tourist spots to visit if you are in Mattancherry. The old, dilapidated building stands host to the rich culture of Hindus, Jews and their history and acts as a museum. Unless you are so much into history and museum, this place is not much worth of a visit. I had much time to... More
