It's really a curious sight. Children started asking so many questions about the operation of the nets. Should visit this place.

Maybe because of the low season but I found I mostly just harassed by hagglers than able to enjoy watching the fishermen.
The Chinese fishing nets have become a very popular tourist attraction, their size and elegant construction is photogenic and the slow rhythm of their operation is quite hypnotic. In addition, catches can be purchased individually and need be taken only a short distance to a street entrepreneur who will cook it
Don't expect much from this spot. Its just a simple workable fishing idea being applied even now with results. Good to have sunset photos with nets as a back drop.
The Chinese nets are an integral part of the area of Fort Kochi but are spoilt by the rubbish that surrounds them. If you are lucky to get the correct angle then you can get a good photo. Give the area a visit but look beyond the rubbish.
We were in the Chinese fishing nets area a couple of times during our two day stay in Fort Kochi and it seemed we always timed it when no one was fishing. This was a real shame as they looked terrific when standing there inactive and I would have loved to have seen them in action. Still I suppose that's...

The rubbish surrounding the area and the fact that everyone seems to have their hand out for a donation takes some of the pleasure away from this otherwise interesting sight.
We didn't know what to expect at the Chinese fishing nets. We enjoyed watching the people and all the activity at this tourist spot. We didn't pay for pics, but rather took in the scene and took pics of the activity. Don't miss seeing the sight in Cochin.
a most interesting ancient method to catch fish on a large scale and well worth a visit. you even get a chance to pull on the ropes to lift the nets out of the sea. the fishermen who spoke to us and explained how it works were very helpful and friendly
Different to see, area surrounding is full of rubbish and dirty but guys working the net will happily chat etc And demonstrate. They will ask for a donation afterwards so don't chat if you don't want to pay. We had fun with them trying to pull the ropes. Seeing once is enough though.
