We went here in winters and it was not that good looking as it is in Wikipedia photographs. Be prepared to walk up and down almost 200 steps. View is nice, relaxing, avoid weekends, its packy there...... Not much far from Bangalore, we did this in one day, also spend a decent amount of time there.
This is a very scenic water fall about 100kms from Bangalore. It looks really awesome during the rainy season (July-Sept) or during October since this happens to be the rain fed river Cavery falling off from the cliff. You can also go under the water fall by hiring small boats and enjoy the gusshing water spary. You will be dissapointed...

River cauvery has created this beautiful place by dropping from a hill top by splitting herslef into two awesome waterfalls: Gagana Chukki and Bhara Chukki. Right time to visit is after the rains and when KRS is full.
A very good place for a day outing. 3 hrs drive from Bangalore. Visited in july, enjoyed coracle (round boat) ride and cold water poundings right under the waterfall (on the right after the stairs, can be reached on boat).
You can see two falls, gaganchukki and bharachukki. Both the falls are worth watching. In bharachukki you can go down to base of the falls. Gaganchukki falls has more height and have to watch it from a view point. But to watch these two falls at its best, you should travel during the monsoon or just after the monsoon
last week I visited this place with my friends. In summer days also it looks fantastic I really enjoyed. Ones in life should visit. its little bit danger place ,should take care .
Its a good day trip with family and friends. Not suitable for old people as you have to walk to reach to the falls. It also has round boats and lovely sceneric beauty around.

Lovely experience of bathing in the waterfalls and such scenic beauty!! You also have small round boats to have a small round near the waterfall. Great place to visit in the weekends after a hectic week at work!
