Experience was awesome.One can experience the place by himself with the electronic guide...jut follow its guidance and you can explore d different weapons,Royal treasure,art and suchlikes at your own freedom.

They have got huge collection of paintings esp of Ravi Verma in excellent shape, Royalty of Baroda was very Art Savvy and promoted many top artists of the world so worth a visit

Another major attraction of Vadodara is Maharaja Fatesingh Museum situated in Laxmi Vilas Palace compound in the erstwhile Motibag School building where members of royal family completed their schooling. The museum is worth visiting, but if you are used to European/American museums, you might be a little disappointed, as the display is not very good. The museum is not air conditioned. an extremely well maintained museum unique of its kind. displays the beautiful culture and legacy of the past conducted in a thorough professional demeanor. very well placed and suitably connected by various means of transport available in the city. an educative eye opener of our past.

Charge more and improve maintenance of the Museum for the collection of paintings are price less. The ravi varma paintings are a delight to the eyes and so is the crystal throne and ivory bed. the paintings sadly are not displayed in a way to bring out its best. Great collection of Raja Ravi Varma Paintings. Also some collections of other Indian and European painters and sculptors. The illumination is not proper and hampers enjoyment of the great paintings of Raja Ravi Varma

When we buy entry tickets @ the Lakshmi vilas palace it will have 2 bits one for the palace and another for Fateh Singh museum. But In Museum the guy who is managing a store also sells tickets and refuses to acknowledge the one bought in palace. So clarify abt this in Palace it self. The museum has more of... More
