Araku Valley is well connected to Vizag by road. It can also be reached by once a day train. Araku town lacks proper eating joints and the hotels are also mostly govt owned with limited restaurants. In March the valley does not look very attractive and is warm so the visit should be planned for Oct - Jan season only... More

The resorts are disappointing, the town is small and noisy, no proper infrastructure. Could have been a great getaway but is a disappointment. Also, there are mostly govt run hotels. And they don't allow dogs More

Had a combo tour of Vizag and Araku valley in Jan 2012. We limited Vizag leg of trip just to rushikonda beach and trust me it was a good decision. The beach is clean, not much populated and had high tides even at 1pm in noon. Even saw a few foreigners and localites surfing on surf boards!! Next came araku.... More

Well connected by road from the city. We need to make sure we visit the valley in the proper season. And catch sight of the numerous flower plantations in the valley. More

Yes! Aruku is a private hill to me (except in season between Nov to Feb) with lots of peace, privacy, scenic, nature....all in just 118km away from Vizag. Please don't miss to see Tyda, Simliguda, a small water flow between huge rocks (between tyda and burra junction), Katiki water falls, Sunkarametta santha on sundays, ananthagiri....... More

If you are in Vizag, you should plan to visit Araku by train (at least one way should plan for), APTDC arranges decent tour packages to Araku & Borra caves from Vizag. Winding roads to Araku valley is breath taking. Araku museum is good place to understand historic culture & customs of this area. Padmavathi gardens is quite big, but... More

Best season to be visited is November, December, January. If you are visiting for the first time you can enjoy the train journey one way till Borra Caves. Near Borra caves, 3kms before you get a diversion which leads to trek to katiki waterfalls, a very nice place. On the way from Borra caves to araku you get to see... More
