The palace has been taken over by the Taj hotel group and they have spared no expense in restoring it. Most notable is the 101 person dining table. If you go in the evening you can have cocktails on the veranda overlooking the city lights. The restaurants are good but pricey and good for special occasions

We ate at the Italian restaurant which wasn't very Italian (more of a French style). Food was good, but overpriced.

food at the Italian restaurant is not worth it.
If you are not staying there, they wont let you in. You have to eat, try to eat at the Indian -everything was booked so we had to go to the Italian one. Place is a dream. Classy pashminas at the shop -European prices.
