Tayrona is a not to be missed attraction if you are near Santa Marta. Take a bus ride or rent a car in Santa Marta and head there. Be aware that you'll need your passport if you're a foreigner. Check-in was easy at the gate. Staff were friendly and gave us a quick introduction to (printed information). I suggest you...

Superb beaches await those who walk from the bus stop. First up is Arrecifes here there are maybe 3 or 4 places to sleep. Next is La Piscina which has 1 place. Then another 45 minutes or so is Cabot which only has 1 place to sleep but there is a lot of camping and hammocks here so it accommodates...

Mountains close behind and seemingly abandoned stretches of beautiful beach as far as i could see. Dont get me...

We stayed in the high-end Eco-habs but hiked from there to Pueblito. As such we passed through Arriceffe, Bakuru, Piscina, and the areas popular with backpackers. The scenery is beautiful and the paths are fun to hike. But it is very warm and humid when you are hiking up to Pueblito. We were disappointed to see water bottlesand other trash...
