Nice place to go for some desert driving, dune bashing. The sand is reddish colored, so it looks pretty and helps to read the dunes while driving. There are shops and cafes, as well as plenty of places to rent ATVs, sizes for all ages.

Beautiful red sand and even nicer when you happen to see a camel. Big Red (also known as Al Hamar) is about 30mins along the Hatta Rd - follow signs for Hatta/Oman from anywhere in Dubai. Big Red is where you are taken on a Desert Safari. You can go on your own though and once there you can hire...
