Wat Mai, a lovely red and gold temple with both a gold Buddha and an emerald Buddha. Well worth a visit.
Wat Mai Suwannaphumaham often simply Wat Mai or Wat May is a Buddhist template or wat in Luang Prabang, Laos. It is the largest and one of the most richly decorated of the temples in Luang Prabang. It is located on Wat Street and just beside the Museum. Take your time to see around their fine art in temple.
A small-ish temple on a big-ish compound, conveniently right next door to the national museum compound. The admission fee seems a bit steep for only a couple of minutes inside (for anyone but the most devoted tourist) but the gilded wall at the front of the temple is probably worth this alone.
One of the many large, old and beautiful temples in the town. So clean and, when we visited, very few people so little noise and disturbance.
This is my favored temple in Luang Prabang. Just like all the temples it is beautiful. Especially the wall decorations, but also the Buddha statues. But more than this, it is a temple that is very actively used and those you are sensitive to it might enjoy the atmosphere there.
Didnt look around this temple that much just come across it going to bath elephants but worth having a quick look if your passing but woudnt go out of your way to look at it!
