I`ve been lucky to attend prayers in this mosque with a friend and what an important event in my life it was each time. The Imam was talking about Jesu and Maria the first time.... My friend translated each word spoken, I received such a warm welcome by all of the ladies......
To see a holy site built with stolen/pillaged columns from Carthage and other archaeological pieces from around the country was kind of disillusioning.
Great visit to a fantastic site we went on a trip with others from local hotels in the area very informative we had a lovely day had to pay for use of a camera but well worth it
its a normal mosque.the tunisians are charging people to look at a mosque.mosques are to pray and worship or practice religion. not for making money out of.
I visited this mosque a few times in sousse you are expected to pay and not have access to certain parts of the mosque. However I watched where the local women went and used the side door. Just cocker your arms and hair and try to blend in..... If questioned just say salem...... Wonderfull experience........
Only Muslims allowed access to Mosque, Can only view from the square which was very disappoint and an excuse to relieve one of four dinars.
It was amazing to go to the mosque and pray inside it. I am a Muslim so didn't pay anything.
You will only like it if u r interested to see historical buildings. If u r looking for something special art and design, then u will be disappointed. This mosque holds historical importance and to b in there is what...

For me nothing special, having been and lived in Islamic countries but worth a quick look. Probably not worth paying the entrance fee if your not too keen. You can see inside the mosque from the Ribat and also from outside the doors.
A very beutiful old building that stands in the entrance of the medina surrounded by all kinds of shops selling watches to bags -well worth a visit
