The big hike up the walls is well worth the view from the top! Try to go after 4, then you avoid the big crowds from the cruisers.

Visited for the day from Croatia. Kotor very relaxing and had a lovely meal with great wine. Pleasant stroll but the steps up to the wall were too much for us. Need Euros in Montenegro but plenty of ATM's in Kotor
Go early before it gets too hot. Fantastic views even before you reach the top. We stopped at the chapel half way up and took pics down over the old town and out over the bay.
We did this steep walk at 9am. Its much cooler and quieter along the path, so you can take your time. You'll find the directions to the entrance leading up to the Fort at the Tourist Information kiosk outside the Old City. Like previous visitors have mentioned, its only 3 euros and the views and pictures are definitely worth the...

Great views of the bay and worth the effort tho there are lots of stairs and you are exposed the whole time so if it's warm out take plenty of water. Nearish the top there is a side spur to the left that if you look thru the "window" you will spy a magical little church that I suspect most...

Very tireing togo up, but worth it. There is an alternative way to climb via Spiljari - less steap and maybe eaisier (ask the locals) and then go down the wall path... So you would not miss any views...i would not suggest climbing after 11 in the morning or before the sun set in summer! And go see the rest...

To find this place - after entering through the northern gate - go straight, and when you see the multilingual table on the wall - turn left. Be careful and try to use steps instead of the road, which can be very slippy.
The price for the entrance is 3 euro, you'll receive a map with different routes according to...

in the bay by the hills you wil find the hidden fortress of kotor, a super romantic sight worth the hussle coming from tivat or herceg novi by bus, or taxi. make sure you're not there in the full season, it gets too crowded, it's much more beautiful when there are just locals.
The restoration of the walls is underway and they are safe to climb. There are many steps to steeply climb up the mountain to the old fortress. The climb is quite grueling but the views are amazing. The cost is just 3€ and you should climb at least part of the way! The fortress at the top has not been...
