Nice 1/2 mile walk from downtown Nantucket. This beach was quite and beautiful. Full of shells. It was chilly when we were there but overall a great beach.

Agree with most of the other recent reviews in that the beach is: nice, clean, warm water, family friendly, "matted" path making it easy to push stuff out to the beach, has convenient and nice restrooms/changing area, $10 beach umbrella rental, closest beach to town, bus access. There are a lot of shells and seaweed as indicated in other reviews...

If you like shells, you'll be in heaven! And at low tide you can walk way out from the shore in knee deep water; makes for fun pictures. It's not far from center of downtown, but for a single dollar you can get there faster on the Wave bus that goes around town. Pick up the schedule (runs frequently) and...

There is a bit of a walk from the parking lot ! So kind of a problem id carryin kids or a lot of beach stuff! Tends to get a bit congested but there is a huge outdoor restaurant with a raw bar that is excellant! Also a store for clothing and sundries. The draw back is that the last...

We stayed right near here and it is by far the most calm beach (water wise). There is a sandbar right off the shore about 20 yards and water was not too cold.
Jetties Beach is up there with my favorite beaches in nantucket. There is an open resturant, a big porch with lots of tables and its shaded. They also have a big beach store with tons of toys. They have facilities including bathrooms and showers. Now other reviews are misleading! There are tennis courts but u have to be a member...

The beach has many seashells and has thick seaweed as you get closer to the water. There were a lot of families here, which makes sense, since the water is shallow and calm. The water is clear, and there is a sandbar that helps keep the waves down. We enjoyed our day here, and were pleased with the option of...

Was very surprised by the new restaurant/bar this season. The food was surprisingly good and not expensive by Nantucket standards. Provides seating by restaurant while waiting for reservations. Beach itself is very crowded in season -- not where I'd choose to go given the wide array of beaches but has facilities. Other great beaches on the Sound are Dionis, Washing...

A little piece os heaven. Tell the time of the day by watching the ferries arive and depart in the distance. Bay side with a unique sand bar. Excellent recreation for families. Not a bad place to see the sunset while you wait for Marshall to call you for your table at Jetties resturant.
Beach is kept natural, which means lots of small shells and seaweed on the shoreline. However, the bottom is sandy once you get in and the water is perfectly calm. At low tide you can walk out for 300 yards. Good view of the ferries and boats going in and out of the harbor.
