if you are travelling to Panama get Mario if available. He picked me up at airport, gave my wife and I a wonderful personalised day tour of Panama, got us our tickets for our full transit canal tour (picking us up and dropping us off at our hotel), and returned me to the airport, His cost is very reasonable. My... More

We had 7h in Panama layover. This left us with 4.5 hours for the tour of the Panama. Mario (#2) was a great guide. Tour was fast as we did not have too much time to walk around, but wanted to see everything. Pineapples on the fruit market were great.

I found My Friend Mario through other reviews on tripadvisor. We had a port stop in Colon and I wasn't interested in the excursions offered through our ship and wanted to try another option. The day was great! Our ship was actually delayed getting into port due to a medical evac, but I emailed MFM the day before and let... More

We used My Friend Mario yesterday for a guided tour of the canal and Panama City. It was probably one of the best guided tours we have ever had. Mario #2 promptly picked us up from our hotel and took us straight to the Panama Canal. The tour then went on to Ancon Hill, Amador Causeway, Panama La Vieja, and... More

We used My Friend Mario on our recent trip through Panama. We were picked up at the airport and taken to the Marriott Hotel after a short city tour. We were picked up the next morning and driven to Gatun Locks for a short self guided tour and then dropped at Colon pier for our cruise. The whole process was very... More

12 of us did a Panama Canal and Embera Indian village tour with Mario(all the guides seem to be called Mario) whilst in Colon for a Port day on cruise. He had his son, Dylan aged 6, with him. We went first to the village of Embera Quera. The river was very low but the boat trip was amazing. We... More

I had never been to the country of Panama. I wanted to schedule 3 days of tours in April 2013. I wanted to see Fort San Lorenzo and the related jungle, I wanted to go fishing in the Panama Canal, and I wanted a tour of Panama City. My big question was whether I wanted to gamble on one tour... More

There is no better way to spend a long lay-over then to have day tour of Panama City, and the canal. Young Mario was on his game. He saw we were a bit groggy and still hung with us. We were amazed awake by the sights and facts. The lunch was very good also.

Mario 4 gave us a very helpful and ENGAGING tour of Panama City. We had about 7 hours free during our layover, and Mario was able to adapt the tour "on the fly" so we could see what we wanted. For example, he drove us to Gamboa and helped us spot monkeys and sloths (we never would have seen them... More

My friend and I arranged a tour for our long (10 hour) layover in Panama. Mario #1 met us at customs and took the two of us on a fantastic tour of Panama. He was very knowledable and informed about the history of Panama and knew the roads and sights well. We were able to get out and walk around... More
