We were there on a Saturday morning . There was numerous wedding party posing for pictures. It had a good selection of flowers etc.
Lots of shade under the trees during a hot summer. Not far there is St Volodimir church and he natural history museum. Some attraction for the kids in the park. Just nearby you can see the blood red walls of Kiev university.
Notable mainly because it is the site of the principal monument in Kiev to the great Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko. Go on the anniversary of his birth, death or burial and you will find the base of the statue covered in flowers.
All park inside cities are welcome in my opinion. This is a small park which is very clean and neat. Some fresh flowers were laying at the bottom of Shevchenko's statue. All in all, a nice park for some pictures with Ukraine's most famous writer.
There are some lovely plants and if you don't mind plenty of dogs everywhere the walk is fine, but I wouldn't say the park stands out to other places in the world and it's also not Kiev's best park..

A small park where you can get away from it all right in the centre. Small cafes/booths on offer too.
